About Peywand

PEYWAND – Iranian Solidarity Association is a non-profit, charitable organization based in Vienna that has been active for over 12 years. Our primary mission is to support people in need in Iran, with a particular focus on patients living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). We provide financial assistance, coordinate support, and work to improve the quality of life for those affected.

In addition to our humanitarian efforts, PEYWAND is deeply committed to the cultural sphere. The association initiates and organizes intercultural and artistic events in Austria to increase the visibility of Iranian culture, build bridges, and foster dialogue.

Supporting Treatment Costs

Without insurance, the cost of treatment can be very high. Peywand helps by covering insurance expenses for some patients.

Supporting Medicine Costs

Due to sanctions, certain essential medicines are not provided by the government. Peywand assists some patients by covering the cost of these medications.

Supporting Patients' Families

Some patients struggle to manage their family finances. In rare cases, Peywand supports families by covering costs such as vitamins and other essential needs.

Meet the Heroes Battling MS

Maryam

Maryam, 41, from Sanandaj, lives with her husband and two children in a rented home. Limited by illness, she focuses on her son’s health issues. After her mother’s recent death, she needed psychological support. Peywand has supported her since 2020. #210

Kamand, 11, from Kurdistan, was diagnosed with MS at six. Facing financial strain due to her father’s seasonal work, she also developed a severe lung disease. Since 2023, Peywand has supported her medical treatment and equipment costs. #294

Gelaleh, 31, from Sanandaj, was diagnosed with MS in 2023. Financial hardship forced her to stop treatment, worsening her condition. She borrowed money for medication. Since 2023, Peywand has supported her by covering medication costs and providing vital assistance. #222

Parastoo, 41, from Qorveh, has had MS for ten years, affecting her mobility. Financial hardship and high medication costs led to her hospitalization. Since 2023, Peywand has covered her monthly medication, helping to stabilize her condition. #223

Zahra

Zahra, 47, from Fooladshahr, Isfahan, has had MS since 2020. Neither she nor her unemployed husband has health insurance. The family survives on borrowed money. Due to financial hardship, Zahra can’t afford treatment, so Peywand covers her monthly medication costs. #329

Homeyra, 45, from Sanandaj, has had MS since 2017. Due to emotional stress and limited rural healthcare, Peywand supports her with online rehab and covers medication costs. Her family depends on unstable income from agriculture. #200
